Ellicottville is a vibrant community nestled in the Southern Tier of Western New York, in the foothills of the Allegany Mountains. While it is renowned for its ski resorts—Holiday Valley and Holimont—it is also an exceptional year-round destination and a wonderful place to live.
We are pleased to welcome you to the Town and Village Hall, centrally located in the heart of the Village of Ellicottville. Here, you will find both the Town and Village Clerk's offices conveniently housed under one roof.
Many people often ask about the difference between the Village and the Town of Ellicottville. In brief, the Village covers one square mile within the Town and has its own independent governing body. The Village was established to provide services tailored to its more densely populated area, which may not be feasible for the Town's rural residents. While all Village residents live within the Town, residents of the Town who live outside the Village's designated square mile are not considered Village residents.
We hope that the information available on our website provides you with a clear understanding of both the Village and Town governments and the services we offer. Please don't hesitate to visit or reach out by phone if you have any questions or concerns.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions!
